The magazine contains a selection of images from my growing archive of fine art photography circa 1960-70.This collection grew to +-3000 images in the past yearI I rephotographed pages from art magazines and catalogs. The research was part of my master project at Kask, School of Arts. Inside the magazine, you can find the sources on a loose removable paper. I consider the magazine as a visual reader where the reader is free to read the sources or not.

TASH TÜDEN, by the end of the 1970’s the carrier bag had become a central marketing object. On the occasion of its 100th anniversary Kaufhof AG made the carrier bag the focus of its anniversary activities. Around 500 students from 31 academies and universities took part with a total of 739 works. The sole aim was to create an artistic debate on what can be made out of, on, with, in about carrier bags. A selection of pages is photographed by me and printed again on newspaper in 2022. The original newspaper is part of my larger archive of art photography 1960-80.

NEWSPAPER
 2022

I photographed folded papers and printed it again on paper. The viewer is tricked because of the illusion that the papers contains a lot of cracks and folds… but only by touching the publication you notice it is an illusion. The idea refers to how photograpy tricks our perception of reality… Part of master project 2022 KASK.

A SELECTION OF SUSAN SONTAG’S ‘ON PHOTOGRAPHY’ 2022

tear-off block

June 2022

For my research on artists and their relationship to photography, I read the book on photography by Susan Sontag. I selected short sentences from it and reproduced them in a tearing block where each sentence is given the space it needs separately. The landscape format refers to the analogue photographs, the tearing is a conscious intervention referring to how photographs continually circulate, disappear and reappear as they travel through time and space.
